La Cultura si trasmette anche attraverso le tradizioni popolari. E Andrea Sansone è l'artista/artigiano che si è fatto carico, negli ultimi anni, di realizzare il simbolo della festa più importante per la cultura e la tradizione dei Materani. Questo speech racconta il valore di una passione che diventa lavoro, nella ricerca di nuovi modi di innovare la tradizione. Andrea Sansone was born in Matera in 1973 and he moved to Milan in 1992 to attend the "School of Comics". At the same time he started to collaborate with the studio of "Decorations and Restorations by Michele Martella". The "bottega" work allows him to learn and refine various pictorial techniques of decoration and restoration at the Borromeo Palace in Milan, Solaro's "Villa Borromeo", "St. Stephen's Church" in Vimercate, decoration and restoration of interior and exterior in Lombardy and in other regions of Italy.
In 2000 Andrea started his "The Dream Laboratory" performing oil paintings, a frescos for dwellings and public and private facilities.
His 25 years of professional activity in numbers: 6.000 square meters of pictorial works (between interior and exterior); 200 sqm of fake marble decorations; 25 km of threaded and fake frames; 1,000 booklets of gold leaf zecchino applied.
In 2011 he approached the papier-mache, thanks to Maestro Michelangelo Pentasuglia, working on some paintings for the Carro Trionfale in 2011. Since than, Andrea has started to experiment with paperboard processing through the creation of clay patterns, traditional plaster molds and papier-paper crafts.
He get knowledge that enabled him to realize four triumphal Chariots in honor of Madonna della Bruna (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017) of Matera
